I have always wondered more about these. I have a set of all three but have never been properly trained on them. Can you guys tell me when it's best to use each one? Or even better where I can find (on the internet) that talks about them and also shows how to properly adjust them. I would really like to know more about them.

Thanks!

My thought on your Draw rein question:

Draw reins make your horse work more against themselves than working against you.

Also bumping this up

If your riding with a solid rein in addition to the draw rein, you can accomplish the same thing as a German martingale, but you must be good with double reins. We never rode with German martingale a when I was riding h/j, but frequently draw reins in addition to our regular rein. If you're not coordinated with good hands, you can do more harm than good with a draw rein.

I like my German martingale. I have a training fork but I don't find myself using it much because it restricts my ability to open my hand

I too prefer the german martingale.  I seem to have more control than with the others and my horse likes it better too...

Here are the ones i have

I like the German martingale because it allows me to open my hand and ask for the nose before asking for vertical flexion. I feel with draw reins and training forks I get too much vertical before I get the nose.
