I love my crown c, currently moving up in gullet size and have a barely used one for sale here on BHW if that's what you decide to go with.

I find that the balance in the seat is more important than the cantle height, personally. I feel very balanced in the crown c and tucked right down on top of my horse.

Sorry... I can't help it tonight.. I thought of this movie when I saw this post.. Remember this movie??? I can't quite see the saddle tho..

Ride 'em Slim!!!

**********************************************************

A good saddle fit is 90% on the size of your thighs and tush ...

A good saddle maker will fit your swells, width, size and height of seat to these body conditions and if you need a higher cantle to keep tush from running over ...
he will add sand bags there too ...

Per the post above ...

RIDE'EM SLIM !!
will allow you to fit more saddles better .......
more than anything else ..

I really like my jackie j treeless, definitely holds you in place well so your not popping up out of the turns. And the Jackie J version doesn't have the high back like the tammy fischer line that made me feel a bit "trapped"

My Billy Cook is a 15" and I am similiar in size to OhMax who rides in a 14" Crown C.  I sat in a 14.5" Crown C the other day and I think I could ride in it (seat size, not saying riding style just yet).  Would that 1/2" make a big difference for me?  I know it's still a combination of not running barrels and I'm still a lousy rider, but I have zero issues getting rid of my saddle if it's really hindering me.

I'm thinking about taking it to Teskey's tomorrow and seeing if they can fix my horn &/or seeing what they'd give me for it.  My MIL has a Sergeant's (anything on those?) just sitting on a stand for decoration in her house.  It seems very well built (without throwing it on a horse) and the horn and cantle are both taller than my Billy Cook and the seat feels a bit deeper.  I think I could ride in that for a few weeks until I had the money saved up for a Pozzi or Crown C.

Please keep the suggestions/advice coming!
