Location: Nashvegas | I just got Renew Gold for my horse and started him on it.....HE DOESN'T LIKE IT! He will leave it in in his feed tub half eaten. Generaly speaking he has never refused or not eaten ANYTHING I offered to feed him, whether it be treats or grain or supplements. So, this has got me stumped. Did any of you out there have this issue and what did you do to get the horse intrerested in eating it?

Location: In the Hills of Texas | Mix in some of the grain you use to feed him and wet it. My horse didn't like it either and I just added a little more each day with his regular grain until I was feeding him the 1#. |

| Mix a little of your grain with it. Gradually decreasing it a little each day. I feed my mare 1 1/2 pounds and 1 pound oats a day divided in two feedings. You will need to give a vitamin / mineral supplement with it. |

Location: Oklahoma | Mine were the same way. Really picky about it and didn't want it at first. Mix it with your old feed and slowly eliminate your old feed. Mine are all over it now. |

Location: kellyville ok | Mine ate it ok right off the bat, but I had three horses on it and all three lost weight. I was feeding the full pound plus the oats AND feeding Max E Glo. I'm glad for those who are having success with it, it sounds like a good idea, but not for my guys. And they were getting good hay along with it. |

Did you call the company? Wynn is really good and can help
you with your feeding program. I feed 1 1/2 pounds of Renew Gold and 1lb of Whole Oats a day with Timothy Hay and Alfalfa.

Location: Texas | Mine get 1/2 lb soaked alfalfa pellets and 1/2 lb Renew Gold twice per day. If you soak the alfalfa pellets they really fluff up and you can hide the Renew Gold in it. My horses love this mixture. |

I started feeding it to a nursing mare that is also bred back, she too lost weight and I had upped it to 5 pounds a day. After a couple of days, I went back to my old way of feeding. as well. She gets once cup of whole flax seed. 2 big scoops of beet pulp and 1 scoop oats am and in pm 1.5 pounds renew gold plus beet pulp and flax. She looks good. now. It just didnt have enough calories for the energy needs of this mare, Love the concept , I just consider it a supplment at this point. but they do love it

Location: Got Lobsta? | I agree with all of the comments. I had 4 that refused to eat it. I switched my old horses back to their original grain. The one I compete on I mixed with his old grain and now he is on 1/2 cup of RG with 1/2 of oats twice a day. He's hard to keep weight on but now he's actually getting on the fat side. Stick with it, it took about 2 weeks before he completely switched over. |

Location: Nashvegas | Thank you all for the advice! I have started to switch him over by mixing his old grain and eventually cutting it out entirely. I plan on adding a good vitamin supplement in the next week or so. I am anxious to see how it works for him. |

Location: Willows, CA | For help with Renew Gold in your program call Win at 530 934 9300. There are no artificial sweeteners or molasses, in Renew Gold, and it is low in sugars. Since this is not the case in other feeds, it takes a while to get the sugar junkies switched over. Once they are they love it. As to weight gain or loss, you need to consider the whole feeding program, and get the digestive system fully functional to reach the proper weight and genetic potential. This is easy, but takes a few weeks to properly get going. Mixing a reduced ration of the old feed usually makes this an easy switch. Once the horses system is lined out everything gets easy. Most people do not add a vitamin supplement. Added minerals just depend on regional deficiencies. Feeding over two pounds of Renew Gold is counter productive because you give up efficiency. You will not be low on calories because we get much more out of the hay you are feeding. It is safe to feed more Renew Gold, but not designed to feed that way. There is good help on the phone.
