I AM being nice

Location: MD | So, along about Christmas, I had posted a video of a young horse that I had taken to exhibition for the first time. I say young, he was actually 6, but we bought him sight unseen as a mid 4 y/o and he was slap starved and stunted. It took forever to get him healthy and so by the end of last year, he was finally at a point where he was ready for an actual job. He's probably been out a couple of handfuls of times now and is coming along. Yesterday, one of my kids was warming him up for me before I was going to exhibition him. She'd not run him through before and is really just starting to progress in her riding over the past couple of months.
She kept asking if I wanted him yet, but I had a good few to ride, so told her to just stay on him. In the midst of a bit of chaos, I lost track of what number they were on. I ended up telling her that she was going to exhibition him instead of me. I was so proud of the two of them. They just loped through (although she did get super excited and kicked him on the way home), but I was so super proud of both of them!

She dang sure turned a better 3rd barrel on him than I did yesterday! He has been stuck running indoors since getting back from FL and has just not been free, at all. When I sent him to the third yesterday, I kind of forgot just how much more free he was. Got by it about a stride, but boy he came back hard to make up for it! lol |
