Soaked Alfalfa Cubes

I bought some alfafla cubes yesterday and was going to soak them to add GastroPLUS to to be sure my horse would get all the GastroPLUS. He can sometimes be a little picky with powders. I had a really hard time figuring out how much water to add, and how long to soak the cubes for before I fed them. Do you leave them whole, or break them up? I've never delt with cubes before, just pellets or regular hay. I would love to hear some suggestions!

I add enough water to cover the cubes and soak them for about 15 minutes or more, wait for the cubes to absorb the water and add supplements and stir.

^^ This - I will sometimes let them set overnight if I am preparing for the next morning too. I feed soaked alfalfa daily.
Good luck!

I soak mine in hot water with beet pulp in the mornings, probably about 30-45 minutes before I go out to feed. Doesn't take as long with hot water and by the time I get to the barn it is cool enough to mix with my feed and supplements.
