I'm in need of a new solar system.
(Ditching the windmills and a generator
) for pastures not holding greater than 130 head. Looking for reccomendations and any tips you can give me. We're in S. TX Hill Country area.

The pump is the expensive part,
(if you already have the well
) think ours was $2250-2500, the solar panels, mounting brackets, wiring, etc. is the cheap part.

Our pump ran around 2500 but before we had that we bought cheap ones around 100 and they only lasted three or four months.

What pumps did you go with? I have two different sized tanks, one is 25' wide by 6' deep and the other is 50' wide by 4' deep. I've been told don't go over on the pump as you want it to accommodate the holding tank size. We plan on pushing water from one well to a center "wheel" pasture about a mile. Thought it would take a booster pump but a well guy told me the newer pumps can do 70 psi.
