Location: IL		I have done both.  If I'm trailering somewhere I will put it on for the trailer ride.  I make sure it goes on after the run, if he's just standing tied to the trailer.  Leave it on a couple hours at least.  I'm still unsure with summer heat on how to use it. I don't want to get him hot, but the other day it was pretty warm out and I kept checking to make sure he didn't feel hot to me and he really stayed pretty cool in it.  Hope this helps
