So its been bothering me... why do they only wrap their back legs? I've noticed this for a long time and it appears to be getting more common so was wondering why just the backs?

There are numerous reasons they could be running down and burning their ankles or hitting, possible injury or someone just likes how it looks. I have seen a lot of horses wrapped who didn't need it at all and we have had owners who wanted them wrapped because they think it means you are taking better care of them but you also get the ones who think a wrapped horse is a hurt a horse.

Some horses run with vet wrap on all 4 legs .The vet wrap supports the tendons and protects  the horses from "running down" or burning. More horses will run down behind then in front. Some horses run  without any vet wrap..
In the morinings horses will either gallop in poloes, saratogo wraps(or no wraps)  When working is trainer's discretion as to whether to use vet wrap or not, dependent on horse's needs.
Hope that helped explain it,and didnt sound like blithering

Hmmm I just feel like if you are using them for injury or burning, that could occur on any leg and it seems it always the hinds. weird to me

If only two legs are wrapped it is typically the back legs on TB's and the front legs on QH's. And it for the reason stated before, it protects the legs when horses 'run down'.
