I about died when I was putting mine on one day and it broke, shot forward and hit another gals horse. OMGosh I was so embarrassed. She was very sweet about it.
That is hilarious and so embarrassing! I could see that happening to me if I ever go fast enough to need rubber bands.
Well...I had a band break the other weekend at a race while running. For whatever reason I didn't take the good one off, which happened to be on my left foot.
Remembered I needed to take it off after I had cooled my horse off and went to step down...with my left foot in the stirrup, stuck. Bless my horse for tolerating my hopping around as I tried to get it off. It was good entertainment for the folks watching.

Try raising your stirrups up one or two holes.

Well I can attest to rubber bands not holding my foot in when a horse decides to trip and fall and then get up and run off. Tonight my big boy and I took a nasty fall at a jackpot. I do the underfoot method and use two rubber bands lately cause they were breaking. I will say I did get hung up and drug for a split second before they broke. We are both ok but be sore tomorrow lol
