Just curious if anyone knew exactly what is legal and not?
FEI/USEF does not allow for ulcer guard - are they?
Same goes for herbs like devil's claw and yucca? Do we need to start looking at all of our "natural" supplements before we start running rodeos?

I saw that, but did they adapt ALL of USEF rules or just some?
It doesn't help that they're closed. ):

No, they have not adopted all of the FEI policy. The 2014 Handbook has the new drug rules in it. They allow for MUCH more than the FEI rules do.

Why can't you use ulcer guard, that's a ridiculous rule!

According to this, Ulcerguard and therapeutic drugs with localized actions are Class 5 drugs, which have no penalty

Adequan/Pentosan go into this category as well. So basically, they are allowed....since there is no penalty.

However if you are giving it, I would call the hotline to confirm this. This is just what I got from reading the link above, and I'm not a vet or expert of any kind
