Once you have it gone, look into getting some Keratex Mud Shield Powder. It works great to keep it away!

Thats good to know. Thats been my problem with this mare. We get it gone, and it comes right back over and over again. We have done everything, tried everything, and used different concoctions as they seem to work for a while and then it's like she builds a resistance and it flares back up. We have been dealing with it ever since we rescued her. It was allowed to go to far for too long and is now chronic. We have no mud, as our pens off the stalls are a foot thick pad of lime finds
( small gravel
) and I dont let her in the pasture when it's wet. I will look into the mud shield. Thank's.

Nu-stock has worked on scratches and rain rot better than anything I've ever tried. Dries it up and it has sulfur in it.

tracies - 2015-01-03 8:10 AM I use a 50/50 concoction of
(generic brands from Walmart
) triple Antibiotic ointment and anti-fungal cream
(similar to lotrimen
); it was the only thing that works on my horse.
THIS is working!!!!! I'm using the Lotrimine and triple antibiotic ointment and she is responding like a rock star!! Finally!! Thankyou so much!!

Calm coat once you get it healed up. Calm coat has tea tree oil and anytime I see skin irrational or gunk on one I slather it on them. It smells good and is antimicrobial so need worries if it gets on blankets.
