If my saddle ever does start popping up I won't hesitate to put one on, just currently I don't need one. My biggest pet peeve is those that put on a back cinch and it's so loose it is useless and more of a danger then not putting one on at all. Same goes with people who don't clip it to their front cinch.

I have lunged him for dang near an hour and as soon as you get to a lope he comes unglued. I just got sick of eating dirt over and over again so I took it off of his saddle. But everyone else yes has one and they are snugged up and fitted not hanging down a foot like some people have.

A very grounded girl Posts: 5052 Location: Moving soon.....	Due to health reasons, I would prefer to not try to ride my "bronc of the year" with a back cinch. He never did get used to it so I do not use one.

Industrial Srength Barrel Racer Posts: 7264	I watched a video once - I think it may have been Martha Josey's and it showed a run in very slow motion and how much the saddle popped up and down - could have been the result of an ill-fitting saddle - I don't know, but after that, I've always used a back cinch.
