my horse has a long beautiful tail....his mane is about 4 inches long and kinky type hair, then his forelock is straight long hair. Any ideas on what to use to help it out some to make it not as frizzy?

may have to roach it and let it grow back.  I have done this to a couple and seen great results.

depends on the horse.  my one horses mane grew about 4-6 inches in a years time.  but that seems to be the limit to her hair length.  She has never grown a mane any longer then that.   About the same with my husbands gelding.   But I want to say my husbands old mare grew like a 10" mane in a years time!!!

I found a great horse shampoo called Quench. It's great for the mane and tail.

I've had good results with MTG. My gelding's mane hasn't grown much (his tail has though) but it has been more smooth, soft, and brushable instead of course and dry like it normally is. I also shampoo and condition with Mane N Tail when I bathe him. Both of those things seem to help.

Try using argon oil.
It is a people product that I use on my long hair
but my horses get it too. It is a conditioner that detangles and helps strengthen the hair itself.
Will stay soft for days
