Subject: Stall flooring...

Has anyone tried/has/or knows someone who has stall flooring that is built up off the ground? For instance like a wood platform with mats and possibly shavings?

My vet recommended it for my horses because we are pretty much a sand pit here, so to help cut down on sand intake while eating she suggested building the stall flooring up this way to be cleaned easier. My stalls are 10x10 with a run. We also have problems during the summer with flooding, we are actually on considerably high ground for S FL, and have tried bringing in more dirt to help but it just seems to always find it's way into the stalls. So I thought, this could be a solution to both problems. But I've never actually seen this done before.

Thanks for any info!!
