I've been thinking about this and I found years ago that people that tried to pull themselves up out of a treeless saddle it didn't work. The saddle horn came back to you. I always used my legs to push myself up along with using the horn more as a balance point.

Anyone recommend a pad for the Tammy? I bought a Circle Y Dropped Front wool/felt contoured pad when I purchased the saddle thinking it would work for the way the rigging is dropped on the saddle compared to a tree'd, but its just not quite dropped/wide enough and on top of it I really don't like it!! It seems to move around a lot under the saddle. I had to buy smaller cinches which I expected but the pad just doesn't seem to ride right with this saddle to me. Thanks!!

My opinion on the saddle.......I'm still undecided after almost a year. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it. It is hard to 'get up' out of but I have a mare that I really just need to stay seated with and need that extra security. She's quick and catty and the deep seat makes me feel secure but at the same time she will plow a barrel so it is important to get up with her to push her past it. Which is what's making me undecided...I would really love to find a tree'd saddle with this kind of deep seat but so far I have had no luck. I am not a huge fan of how the stirrup leathers are made and the mile long girth strap. I can not use the holes in the strap, even tried to make new ones but still just wont tighten right, so I have to tie it like I have always done on my tree'd saddles.....it makes saddling a bit of a pain.
