 Can You Hear Me Now?
Location: When you hit the middle of nowhere .. Keep driving | What are some good brands that hold up to taking a beating. I'm currently in them 10 hours a day and need ones with some support. I am not impressed with my "the north face" shoes they cost a good penny and started to fall apart in 2-3 months. I love my pumas but my feet get sore in them for long periods of time. |

| Check out Saucony. Or Mizuno. I also love Brooks. Each of these brands have different amounts of cushion, support, and balance.
Also, if you hit up an actual running store, they can watch you walk and help support your feet correctly - for example, I protonate in, which means that when I step I land on the outside of my foot and roll/rotate to the inside. Therefore, I need shoes that support the inside of my foot to help me land and take of in a level manner.
Good Luck and holler if you have more questions! |

Location: Southeast Louisiana | Running shoes do wear out, in terms of shock absorption and cushioning. Most runners replace their shoes every 4-6 months or 300 or so miles. When my knees & back start to ache, i know it's time to replace mine. They are usually still good for wearing around the house, not really falling apart. And I usually buy new balance or asics. If you're buying them for everyday wear, you might look for cross training shoes or just some nice designer athletic shoes like Nike or reebok. You might get more out of them in terms of daily wear. Even in the different brands, if you are buying shoes meant for running, you probably won't get the same wear out of them as if you bought a cross training or walking shoe. They're made for different activities.

Location: dead end road | Go to a running store and get fitted. The shoes at the store are not anymore expensive then they would be at Academy or Dicks or somewhere like that. They will watch you walk/run barefoot on a treadmill and then fit you accoudingly. They will also let you try on several different brands that are for whatever time of foot striker you are. Makes ALL the difference in the world. |

Location: PA | I have a pair of Brooks that I LOVE!! I just started running 2 months ago, and they've been wonderful. I have a bad knee, due to a MCL tear last year, and they've been a lifesaver for me.
I personally can't wear Saucony or Nike.
But I agree with everyone here...go to a running store, try on alot, and find one that fits, and is comfortable. |

| Go to a knowledgeable shoe store and get properly measured and fitted. Not all shoes make what is be perfect for your foot even the top notch brands. Don't get stuck on a specific brand name. Just focus on shoe quality and the proper fit cor your foot & your needs of the shoe. I found out for years I was wearing a great name brand and shouldn't have been because that particular brand doesn't have anything that properly fits my heel and width. I thought they felt pretty good and I was buying them on my own. Are you actually running in these shoes? Make sure you explain what it is you do in the shoes. If you aren't running, you may not actually want or need running shoes. You said you are in them 10 hours a day. Most podiatrists will tell you if you are wearing the shoes a lot that you should replace them often for the benefit of your feet.

| New Balance or Saucony. I've also been told by several friends that run a lot of marathons to buy them 1/2 a size bigger than you usually would, which might help you since you are in them 10 hours a day. |

Location: Mississippi | I just got a pair of Asics Nimbus and they are very comfy! I had Salomons before these and liked them alot also but the Asics fit my foot just a little better. Zappos is great because they offer free (and quick) shipping and returns. I usually order a few pairs from them then keep the one I want and send back the others. |

Location: My own little world :) | I personally love my Brooks Addictions and Ariels. They are for motion control because I have flat feet that like to roll in. My Ariels have a lot of cushioning. I bought them the day before I ran a half marathon and then used them in the race and loved them. My feet were happy for all 13.1 miles! |

| Asics are like the standard for comfort and holding up. Plus any physical therapist I've ever talked to recommends them especially if you have knee or ankle problems. |

THIS!!!! go get fitted properly. Most people are not wearing the proper size / width of shoe.... and get the proper shoe for what you need. As this person said... you may need a good walking shoe vs. a running shoe if you are not running but just working in them. Good luck! |

Location: 31 lengths farms | Is this for running or for work...probably need a different shoe for standing all day.
As for running shoes, I agree on the going to a knowledgable running store and have them do an analysis of your foot strike and stride. My hips and knees would always start hurting about 2 weeks into a new pair of running shoes, usualy Nike or Adidias . It as too the point by the 3 day in to the week of running I would have to take several Advil before I ran and again after. On a lark I stopped in to look for new shoes again, only 2 months into my last new running shoes and they did a foot analysis on me barefoot, both running and walking. Apparently my left ankle rolls so much that the ankle bone on the inside of almost touches the ground when I run...They had me go to a stiffer type shoe with an insert for the fact my arch that I do have is very far forward. No lightweight Zig Zag soles for me, LOL!!! I'm about 5 months into this new pair at an average of about 40-50 miles a month and my hips and knees are doing great. |
