The pressure point on the sternum would for sure justify why horses get pissy when being saddled/cinched.  I thought it was an interesting alternative to scoping.

That's the same video sent to me to diagnose my horse with ulcers the other day! A member on here suggested from what I was explaining was happening that my horse might have ulcers so I went to FB and one of my friends sent me stuff on Depaulo!

He reacted to 3/4 pressure points and even acted like he was gonna nip at me. He wasn't as reactive like that last horse, but more like that other horse (the chestnut).

My vet that I work with is ordering me up some compounded omeprazole, in the mean time I have him on rice bran, electrolytes, F1 noni and Zantac!

Later it will be omeprazole instead of Zantac and once his treatment is done it will be U-guard for prevention.

This is an excellent video!! I found this one after my post on here about a dull hair coat. I'm now on day 10 of treatment with my mare.

Make sure the omeprazole is buffered, as there is compounded omeprazole that is not buffered being sold for the same price that is useless.

He mentioned omeprazole doesn't work for hindgut.... so if they have hindgut problems what should you use? Just the all natural supplement?? Great video though!! Thanks!!

Several things caught my eye:

1. With his palpations it would have been nice to 100% verify that the horses had ulcer by scoping them.
2. I don't like the fact that he recommends a compounded omeprazole paste. I am sure he is an AAEP member and that organization frowns on compound products that copy FDA approved.
3. His video is sponsored by the supplements that he shows. "Excel" being shown at the end.

Interesting concept. I have seen this B4.

Thanks for sharing!!  I've seen his first one.

While itnwould have have been nice that they scope for ulcers, the before and after is night and day.

so for hind gut acidosis--is that treatable by diet and the natural supplements only?
