Best for boot repair

I have a new pair of boots that somehow got windshield wiper fluid on the tops when they were in my trunk. Once I noticed I wiped as much of it off as I could the next day the leather was breaking off and now I am left with a new pair of boots with a big hole on the top. I would love to get new tops or at least a patch so that I could wear them. Does anyone know an excellent repair shop to put new tops on?

Windshield washer fluid did THAT????? What the h*ll kind of washer fluid do you use?
Check around your area to see if there is a custom bootmaker. However, it will cost you a lot to get new tops. Any reputable shoe repair shop should be able to patch it.

I could not believe it either.....i thought it would just stain but it ate right through it. BEWARE of the Walmart brand it eats through leather.

Wow! I wonder if it has the same effect on your skin? That's scary.

Windshield washing fluid has methanol in it, which could have caused the hole.
