I've never had one before and wanted to get opinions on them; how they fit the horse, how the seat sits you and how the stirrups hang, do they get your feet behind?  Anything would be appreciated!!  This is a full skirt, not the Record Breaker that has basically nothing behind your leg as far as skirt goes.  I've talked to Cactus and they told me the bars are flared pretty good, which I like, 7" gullet.  I'm hoping the shoulders have plenty of room and don't pinch them.  Tell me what you know!  Thanks!

I have 2.  Cactus no longer makes the CJ as she went to Reinsman.  I looked at them and dont like them at all compared to the Cactus.  Tree looks the same but as far as quality, Cactus wins hands down.  Has great flare which is a must for my horses.  My feet dont get behind me, I think its very comfortable and fits my wide horses great which is why I own 2 of them.  I've never tried the Record Breaker only the barrel racer.  Gives lots of shoulder room.

The one I'm looking at is a Cactus and I like the way it looks WAAYY more than the Record Breakers.  Looks like a good quality saddle.  I just hate buying over the internet without trying on my horse but I've done it and am praying it will fit my horses.  I talked to Cactus and she told me about the shoulders being more open and shouldn't pinch or be too tight fitting.  Hoping that's the case.  Just wanted to see what ppl thought of them and how they liked the seat also.  Will try to post a picture.  Thanks for the info!

I have a Cactus Charymane James with the skirt you are talking about and I love it and so do my horses. I bought if off eBay and was skeptical but read plenty of reviews and I am very happy I bought it. I love the tooling and the high end leather that is very soft, I don't think you can go wrong

I bought a CJ thanks to CYA Ranch. I have an older one with the rounded skirt, but not the record breaker. It was my 12th saddle I tried for my horse, yes 12, and FINALLY fits him. It does have a good amount of flare. I still have to shim behind his shoulders to get it far enough off his shoulders though as he has some pockets from muscle atrophy. I am sure once he fills in there he won't need the shims and should have enough shoulder flare. I've only gotten a chance to ride in it couple times just on trail rides so can't really comment on how it puts my legs, but can say its comfortable to sit in 3+ hours.

I loved the quality of my Cactus recordbreaker and think it's a darn shame she went with Reinsman.

I know.  I've heard she's jumped around a lot between saddle makers so I'm not sure what the deal is.  I think Double J, Cactus and now Reinsman, not sure if any others??  I can't imagine the quality being as good with Reinsman.... I love the looks the Cactus I'm getting.  Hope I'm not disappointed!!

I have a friend with a Cactus CJ and it seems to fit quite a few horses.  I like it except I prefer a deeper seat.  but yours looks to have a nice deep seat with a higher cantle.  Wish I could find one like that!!!  Good find, let us know what you think when you get it!

You can still get a "CJ" by Cactus. They still have the trees, will be the exact same saddle, it just will not say Charmayne on it.

I have a cj and LOVE it. Unfortunately the horse I rode it in has now been retired and it doesn't fit my other one. I think my colt will be able to use my cj as he is fairly wide also.
