PROS AND CONS on these types of saddles, I know they are ugly but just looking for a lighter saddle option I know Fallon Taylor runs with the Brazilian saddle I believe or she used to.

Neither are worth it... Many traditional saddle makers make a lighter version of a barrel/roping/etc saddle. I'd look into that first before you waste your money on something you just won't like IMO...

They have a few things in commom. They are synthetic, light and crap saddles.

I have no experience with Double J, or any of the brands listed.....

But I'm gonna say: Go with the Double J!

Call Double J and ask them about their Speedster they have, its a little bit lighter then their other saddles, has a shorter skirt I think.

The trees in both those saddles are not good and usually end up soring a horse up. I was told some of the people that run in the Brazilian saddles ride in a different sadddle and just use them to run in. Good Luck in your search.

Connie Combs has an Abetta saddle in her line of saddles that looks pretty good for the price.  I have considered buying one for a colt saddle, around $600 and weighs 17 pounds.  I don't know Connie but I would think she wouldn't put her name on something that was crap.

Tiany is who introduced Fallon to the Brazilian saddle. She calls it a center fire rig that sits one like bronc rig. Its her story. And I know Fallon changed back to a traditional tree saddle and said BF didnt run as well so she went back. I know she isnt as light as many of the girls on the road right now and her mare is sure enough smaller than a lot of the top 15 horses. Everyone that I know personally that has bought one has sold it.

I know a ton of people who have been bucked off and hurt using the Abetta saddles.
No way I would use one
