| What does everybody feed their younger prospects (2-4) to help them spread out and look more grown up?
I have a three year old that just hasn't filled out like the other one we have and he still has the slim, long legged baby look about him.

Location: the high desert | I have a yearling so not exactly what you are looking for but i will probably be feeding him the same thing as a 2 year old lol. For grain he gets renew gold and beet pulp, supplements he gets horse guard (a vit/min supplement) and FORCO. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Mine are usually on pasture or if they are in the corral, they get free choice grass hay, loose mineral and I have seen wonders with THE Muscle Mass. It gives them the vitamins and minerals they need and puts a nice bloom on them. I just started using ADM feeds and am quite impressed with the 2 together. I only feed 1-2#'s of PrimeGLO. The whole feed/supplement is much cheaper than what I have done in the past. |

Location: ND | I let mine grow up at their own speed, I don't push them to grow/fill out. They get all the good quality grass/alfalfa hay or pasture that they want, grain during the winter months & free choice loose salt & minerals. I know some will disagree with me but I prefer them to grow at their own pace & reach maturity gradually. These are my 3 yr olds....I think they look fine anyway.

ohhhh if only a picture could show how he moves! He literally floats over the ground, one of the smootherst horses I've ever been on. Beyond excited about his future! |

Location: Alberta | I agree with Sara, let them grown at the rate their meant too....my 4 year old who gets rode regularly is on alfalfa cubes, pasture and a mineral block!!! I never grained my young horses, but I'm also lucky to have access to good quality hay, pasture etc!

I agree with Sara too. At some point you need to just let genetics kick in IMO

Location: Oklahoma | Mine are on grass 24/7. They also get Safe Choice Original and Adeptus Augment. I feed my stud Mushroom Matrix ECP for focus. I've been feeding my horses the same way for years. The only change I've done is moving from So Cal to OK. So, now my horses are turned out instead of just getting bermuda twice a day.
