Location: NE Texas | Since we're talking about bits today, has anyone used the Fred Hunter School to Win or the Show to Win? I really like the look of the Show to Win, but dang I had to spend $100 on yet another bit that is just a bit. I typically like the feel of the Ed Wright bits, but do have one horse that i'm having a little trouble getting bitted just like I like. He's not tough mouthed at all, but my Ed's just are getting the feel i'm looking for this time. I'm not on the facebook bit page, but isn't there a page on there where you can try a bit for a fee? |

Does anyone else have any opinions on the bits? Do they really have a different feel? |

Location: Nevada | I have his train to win on a 3 year old and Love it! It keeps him collected and so soft. I was having a lot of trouble getting him to keep his head down when he was stopping but with this bit he stays collected and with the pressure of the chain over nose keeps him from flinging his head. I have not used any other of his bits but if they work as good as the train to win I think I will spend the money. |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | Yes...they do have a different feel. I use the Show to Win. My horse has a real thick tongue and he packs this bit really well. It will get one to break from the poll. I liked it when I did slow work at a trot. I only ran him twice in it and I felt like I had a brake on. When and if I ride again I will use that or the Fuzz bit to ride in but will go back to the Molly Powell smooth run bit if I ever run him again. I am a bit hoarder. |

You really need to try them before you buy as many people don't like them at all. I pretty much ride like Fred does so they did work for me but like I said..the one didn't work to run him in at all. I probably got handsy from not running a horse in over 4 years..My horse likes to drop his shoulder so I need a bit I can pick him up with. The Molly Powell Smooth Run was perfect to run him in but I hate to just ride him in it.
