Long story short 2yo has to live in a 10X20 in the barn for a little while. Last night was first night back in a stall in weeks (she used to live in one- I know) and she stocked up in the back. I let her out into a small turnout with grass this morning and because she hadnt had hay yet she didn't go far and just ate. I hosed her legs, lightly lunged her a bit, walked her around until she dried and put plain quilted and standing wraps on her. I have BOT boots I can put on her but i don't want her living in them. Those things are worth more to me than her sometimes. Ok no not really but I don't trust her with them for very long. Being a curious baby = expensive boots chew toys.

Is there anything I can do? I really don't want to wrap her all the time. I'll out her in that small turnout morning and night while I'm at the barn but I can't leave her out

I just bought a set of Equiflexsleeves through Schneider's Saddlery. They're basically compression socks for horses. I've only used them a couple nights when I was stalled on concrete at a barrel race, but my gelding's legs stayed tight! Might be worth a try.

They have some meds for that. Ask your vet.

Nutrawound from Total Health. It's pricey, but it's great. Will keep the excess fluid out of her body and will also take out soreness, etc. I had a horse that would stock up any time I had him stalled. I put him on that, and he never stocked up again.

thank you guys. I have THE Nutrawound in the barn. I wondered about giving it to her but like you said that's a pretty pricey additive for a 2yo that just eats LOL

I can't afford all the fancy stuff so I use Green Pack Jelly or DMSO and a polo wrap.
