Ingram Equine Insurance I believes writes them. They are in TX.... I used them in the past and was very pleased with service plus rates.

My agent was Shelley Drury. She is an excellent and knowlegable horsewoman as well as being an agent.

I would strongly recommend that you not go with Great American as an underwriter. Both Great American and Justin Insurance left me high and dry on a claim last july. It is a very long story but to make it short, I had a horse get sick went to the vet and was there for 2 months. Great American was notified that she was there, they took responsibility for the her being there and the decisions that had to be made. They let my mare suffer and circle the drain for 2 months, then authorized to have her put down as well as ordered the autopsy. I sent them all of the information that they requested as far as vet bills, then had to prove her worth. This was a mare that was in the top 10 of the big shows with 600+ entries, won rodeos and barrel races. After fighting with them for months they would not pay out the claim, they found every loop hole in my policy. I might add that the policy had been in effact for 5+ years.

I am sorry that happened with your mare. I have had nothing short of excellent service from Justin Insurance and Great American. We have used them for for 16 years and had several claims. Insurance in general is always hedging a bet.
