Ok guys so I am looking to split my all alfalfa diet with something. I have had them on alfalfa(flakes) and grass hay pellets but someone mentioned that using oat pellets might be better. Both are decently easy keepers one is a 14yo mare who stays pretty much the same on anything and the other is a more sensitive 10yo gelding who is on the lazy side if he is not fresh super sensitive to pellets and has a heart murmur. The only other things that they are on are psyllium and Lysine

I would say it's just personal preference. I personally don't feed pellets, but I do feed a flake of alfalfa and a flake of orchard grass 2 x day.
