Location: Sunny California | I tried all of the stuff on the market and then found on a forum where someone used lysol when all else failed. It was the only thing that cured thrush in my old gelding who had chronic thrush. |

| Kopertox! it is the only product that is waterproof, and will leak wherever into the foot it needs to go. and stays for about 3 days. My dad used to be a horseshoer and he has fixed several horses with chronic thrush applying it every 3 days. Its also good for cracks and any other foot fungus. Its about $22 for the 16 oz bottle I think but well worth it. It is green, don't let it get on u or the horses hair. they say it will burn but Iv never seen any adverse affects from it. |

Where can I get this Copertox?
It will be in the livestock area of your feed stores - TSC, Orschlens, etc all carry it.
Koppertox is a white bottle with green writing on it. |

Location: Oklahoma | I didn't have much luck with Koppertox, or either I just didn't wait it out long enough. I tried Koppertox (using Hydrogen Peroxide to clean it first) for about a week - week & a half. I then started using ToMorrow (mastistis medicine for cattle) paste after my HP flush and I would shove cotton balls as tight as I could into the hoof. Did that for about a week and had wonderful progress! I also did a couple of epsom salt soaks with some nylon boots (I think they're Hoof Wraps brand or something from TSC). to help make him feel better. He loved those soaks! |

^^^ THIS or a Bentadine solution. Most likely those of you that have used Kopertox (or any other thrush treatment) have not been successful because you have not thoroughly cleaned the area of any necrotic material.....THEN you have to keep the feet DRY! Kopertox works better than others because once you have cleaned out the hoof and applied the Kopertox deeply into the cracks with a brush, Kopertox is waterproof and helps to keep the area dried out. |
