Favorite bit to use with a german martingale
Teen Advice Giver
What is everyones favorite bit to use when using a German Martingale ?
I'm ordering a martingale and have a simple 3 piece egg butt snaffle, but looking into other options to use with it.
Looking to help soften the horse, flex, getting him bending more.

Bit #242. It is my favorite to use with a GM.

I always ride my german martingale with a twisted wire sliding gag bit
I like one to really bend and flex so this really puts a foundation on one to ride that way

I've used my german martingale with a twisted wire snaffle and a twisted wire dogbone short shank Sherry Cervi bit. I prefer the SC bit for my horse because he can be strong. I use it for every day riding and slow work. Definitely helps remind him to stay backed off the bit and breaking at the poll.

I have always used Cindy Wright's 3 piece copper twist, or smooth sweet iron 3 piece gag bits..
Started many good ones using Cindy's methods!!
