I love ultium! I also feed amplify, alfalfa hay with it. My colt has been on it for a little over two years. He is off the race track so he should be hotter than a firecracker but he is not. He is turned out every night in a seven acre paddock and in the stall every day. I do not feed it by the directions I feed less. Half and half of ultium and amplify all the alfalfa he can eat. He looks and feels great.

Thanks y'all. I found out today from a friend that used to have a feed store that he had to get certified to sell it. It's one of the best feed out there so hopefully we will good results. Where do I go to get coupon?!

It's a fantastic feed, especially when it's used for the reasons that it was designed for. We sell it like crazy to the pro rodeo people, especially during the 4th of July run. You don't need to feed as much as the bag says to see results either- those measurements are for Purina's perfect world. Heck, I'd go broke if I fed what the bags say and I'm part owners of a feed store. Back when we started carrying Purina, if you wanted to sell Ultium you had to get certified to do so. I don't know if that's still the case for new dealers though.

If you want coupons, go to the Purina Mills website and just sign up to receive them!

That is what my friend told that used to sell it. That you don't feed a lot and make sure you work your horse cause it was good for people going up and down the road.

I liked the feed. Kept weight on even when the stable I was at had not the best hay.

I switched to Triple Crown Complete and liked that better, personally.

The great thing about Purina though is that so many places carry it, and the feed itself is consistent. If you are traveling all over it's not a bad choice since it is so widely available and has good nutrition.

How does ultium compare to omolene 200?? Other than the protein/fat levels?

I don't care for Omolene. Mine got hotter on the 200, all the while he lost weight.

The only time I ever tried Omelene it was moldy, all 3 bags. So I took them all back and never tried it again.

He hasn't gotten hotter, but it helped him put on weight. I may try the ultium. Thank you!
