| There is only 1 room in our house with carpet. The rest of the house is wood laminate flooring. I need a new vacuum that will work on both surfaces. Is there one that will even do all that?
I have been waiting as along as I can to spend the money on a new one, so I'm using 2 (LOL) One is a canister vac that works good for the hard floors and the other is a regular upright that works good on the carpet. The upright has a hose attachment on board but it doesn't work, so that's why someone gave me the canister. The canister is like 20 years old or more so its surely not going to last much longer! Anyone have any suggestions? I really don't want to spend over 200 if possible. It will be so nice to just have to store 1 vacuum! |

That is funny. I was told to buy the Shark (couldnt afford the Dyson) and I am not in any way in love with the Shark. |

Never tried a Shark, but I love my Dyson for doing both. |

Location: Texas | I have a Dyson that is ok, but the attachments with the hose is too hard to use. Just today, we pulled the carpet from the living room and now have hard surface flooring everywhere except the bedrooms. I really would like a cordless vac for the hard surface floors but was wondering which one is the best. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I have a Dyson stick vac that I use for daily cleaning (my German shepherd is a hair factory) and I like it way better than any others I've had. For more thorough cleaning, I use an Electrolux canister that has different attachments. |

I didn't get notifications of the replies even though I checked the box for them and in the mean time I watched a bunch of youtube videos and researched it and decided to order the Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away Vacuum with 6 Attachments from QVC they have an extended return policy for the holidays - can return until jan 31! Location: not settling | I was spoiled for awhile and had central vac, but once that fairy tale ended we got a Hoover bagged canister vacuum. I am a vacuum snob and I like the Hoover! |

Agree.... The extra cost is worth it just because they last so long. We had one that lived and worked for over 30 years... Not sure how long exactly because when it died nobody remembered what year we got it. It was nice that the bag was built in and never had to be replaced, Just unzip it and dump it out. |

This is what I have and I LOVE it! I couldn't afford a Dyson. When I went to a vacuum shop to research, the man doing repairs there said he gets in more Dysons to fix than any other brand. |

We do too.
Just a flip of a switch takes you from carpet to tile/hard wood. No hassle with taking out all those hoses and attachments. Love our shark. |

Location: MD | I bought a Eureka bag-less lightweight vacuum. Lightweight and easy to store. Flip a switch and it goes from floors to carpet and works well! It was less than 50 dollars and I've had it for 2 years! the handle comes off if you want to do anything hand held. and it's easy to empty and can even machine wash the filter. It handles my Australian shepherds hair and two kids on the weekends and I still love it! |
