My horse has been blowing out on the back side of the third barrel lately originally I thought I wasn't looking and turning my shoulders quick enough and have been trying to work on that but looking at out photos from our runs last weekend it looks more like she is fighting me stiffening and sticking her head up instead of softening to my hand and finishing the turn. It may be a combination of these two things but how can I work to improve? She's pretty spooky and I am really having to push to get her past the barrel enough to turn.

My mare was doing this.. She is also VERY ratey. What helped me was to ride her 2 handed all the way into the barrel, like till my leg was at or maybe even a bit past it and also keeping her more square with my outside leg. I had to keep 2 handed and basically push her back over with outside rein and leg on the back side of the barrel.. if that makes sense...

otherwise she wanted to just drop her shoulder on the third and run on the other side of the second barrel...
