Thought I would give ya'll an update on my stepdaughter that was injured in March with a severe anoxic brain injury.

It's apparent that she's trying to talk now and she babbles a lot. Back in May, she said my  name but after that we didn't get a lot of vocalization. Well, the last couple of months she's been babbling and she was trying to make an "F" sound.... sure enough, her first clear word was the F-bomb and she kept repeating it during the last Tennessee game at appropriate times, lol!     Of course, we'll take any word we can get.

This whole time she hasn't had any movement on her left side. This past weekend, she started moving her left hand and leg, which is huge!! Prayers are definitely being answered and God is working.

Thought I'd share some pics of her visit to the horse therapy place in Tampa, FL where she got to visit a few weeks back. She got in the feed room and took a deep breath and relaxed. That's my girl!

Here's some pics of her Aussie that we got certified as a therapy & service dog so that she can go visit her every other weekend when my husband flies down.

Then there's also some pics of her mare Mo that we hauled out to her first show under saddle. My husband showed her in In Hand Trail - she's never even seen a trail pattern and she did fabulous! I showed her in walk/jog pleasure, ranch, and horsemanship and she did great. Love this mare and I know Katie would be so proud. My goal is to train her not only for ranch & barrels but for her to be gentle enough that she can be used for therapy as well. After this whole experience, it's definitely made me consider a few things in how I train and work with horses....

Here's the link on the horsemanship pic - http://www.keithmooneyphoto.com/HorseShows/SMHSS-October-5-2014/68-W-J-Horsemanship/i-tRn8smF/A

Here's the pics -

She's doing great! I never take my bracelet off!! KEEP PRAYING!!! Go Katie!!!

We appreciate all the prayers and support SO much!! I know that God is going to use this as a blessing to us and so many people. When I stop and think about how close we came to losing her and the fact that her boyfriend didn't make it I know for a fact she's here for a reason. God's at work in a mighty way........and on a side note that's interesting her nurses, a few of her friends, and myself have all had the same type dream that she's talking. So it IS going to happen, just going to take time. Every day is a step forward!
