Where should I designate my circuit?

I'm hoping in a year I can get my permit for WPRA and still filling it but I was curious as to which circuit I should be in. I live in Southern CO
(only one hour east of Lamar
) and even though I could go into the Mountain States Circuit, it can be white a drive to go all the way to Wyoming. I was pondering the idea of designating myself to the Prairie Circuit but I'm also not too sure since I've never really rode in that area before.
Any tips or ideas that you could share with me?

Keep in mind that if you go Mt States, you only need 15 rodeos for circuit finals. If you go Prairie, you would need 22. Non circuit money fills your permit. Being in a specific circuit is mainly for circuit finals. I know most if the girls in your part if the country still do Mt States. Plus a lot of rodeos on the west side of KS are co approved. I'd map out 15 for Mt and 22 for Prairie and then decide what looks better.

Thank you for your input! I didn't know about MT's 15 vs P being 22. I know eventually my goal would be to compete at the designated circuit finals then the National Circuit Finals Rodeo if I qualified. I also didn't know that there were rodeos on the west side of KS that are co-approved, that would help me out tremendously.
Just did some research and apparently there's one coming up in Amarillo, TS that is co-approved as well.

Also note that co-approved rodeos do not count for your circuit count. For instance, if you are in the Mountain States and go to a co-approved rodeo in Kansas the money
(I believe
) counts but you still have to go to 15 rodeos in Colorado & Wyoming. Someone can correct me if the money is not right, but I am certain on the counts.
