If you are getting a waterproof/drop proof case.....the Otterboxes are HUGE, the Lifeproof cases are really low profile and slim. Both REALLY limit how well you can hear the other person on the phone. Lifeproof cases are hard to take off without breaking, Otterbox is easy to get off. Both are insanely expensive for what they are unless you get them on eBay. Overall my vote for the best waterproof/drop proof case is the Lifeproof.

I have an iPhone, and I have a Lifeproof case and then just a normal case that goes around the phone and has nothing protecting the screen. The Lifeproof cases are cool, not sure how waterproof they are because I never dropped mine in water. But as far as protecting the screen, my normal, smaller case still does a pretty good job...it's fallen onto concrete a lot and still never broken. Some of my friends with horses dont have a case at all and their phones are fine too.

I have the good outterbox cases. I had one for my iPhone4s that I just traded in and the guy at Apple said he never sees phones that are in like new condition like mine was when I took it out of the case. I had dropped it more then I want to confess. Worth the $59.00 spent.

I tried the otter box and the life proof and hated both. Now I have regular case and a tempered glass screen cover that's guaranteed for life and cracks if dropped up to 15 feet. I had previously broke 2 screens by dropping on my stained concrete floors. So far I have dropped several times and no scratches or cracks!

I don't like otterboxes because of their bulkiness and I can't stand lifeproof cases. They make it hard to hear the person you're talking to on the phone. I have a spigen slim armor case and it's absolutely amazing. I've dropped my phone more times than I can count and there's not a scratch or crack on it anywhere.

I've had several too. So far the Otterbox Defenders have been quite protective of many many drops on gravel and concrete. I've went through 2 though due to the rubber outer stretching and tearing. After each Otterbox died I did try others. The lifeproof did not allow me to use certain types of car chargers with thicker charging ends. The charging area that is open is much smaller than the otterbox. I ended up hating it and sold it. Back to the otterbox and fast forward to a month ago the next out cover died and I ordered the super heavy duty aluminum gorilla case. Loved all the features it offered. Good drop protection. Good transfer of touch screen sensitivity. The only thing I hated and decided it had to go- case was sooo thick that it made my service drop an entire bar everywhere. It didn't work where I needed it to. Now I'm using my most favorite ever. Mophie Outdoor Pro. Serves as a second battery. Good fitting outer silicone cover. Good touch screen transfer and not quite as bulky as the gorilla case. Heavier but I can use my phone twice as long. Also- buy everything new from ebay cheaper. My otterboxes cost about $20-$25 and I only got the heavy dutiest.

First, be careful buying on eBay because a lot of the cases are fakes.  Make sure you are getting an ACTUAL Otterbox or Lifeproof if you go that route.

I used to use  Otterbox--great protection but had to replace once a year because of the rubber tearing up.  Bought hubby a LifeProof and it didn't last two months.  I know it was authentic because I ordered it directily from the website.  We both now have $35 Griffin Survivor cases from WalMart.  Hubby got his for Christmas last year, and mine is going on two years, and they are both in GREAT shape.  The only downside is they are bulky compared to the LifeProof.

I just bought a Otterbox Defender for my iPhon 6 last night. I like it a lot. Not bulky at all and it was the only one I tried that I felt like would actually protect my phone. A lot of those cases are just cheapy.

get an otterbox, I love mine. It has never hindered my ability to hear when I'm talking on the phone....plus I drop my phone all the time, and it has definitely saved it LOL

I really like my UAG cases, they seem to protect really well. I just bought a speck case and I like it as well.
The otter box and life proof cases seemed to bulky for me.
