Soybean Meal ???

I have recently retired my horse due to chronic lameness caused by high ringbone. I am looking into feeding him the TLC Nutrition supplement....Equi-Bone. I have heard great things about it and need to try to help him be comfortable.
So, the feeding instructions suggest feeding oats and soybean meal. Well, I have never fed a soybean meal and not sure where to find this. Anyone have any suggestions? In googling I see that Nu Image is a supplement made from soybean meal. Is this what they are talking about or are they talking about straight soybean meal?

Its cheap and you can get it at most any local Farmers Co-op. It runs about $15 per 50 lb bag around here. They sell it in fancy brand name bags and charge astronomical prices at high dollar feed stores but any local grain company should have it...cheap.

I started feeding it to my old broodmare this fall, she was in rough shape after weaning her foal & my vet had me add it to her feed as it's high in protein. Her condition imroved greatly after adding this to her feed. I get it at our local Hubbard Feeds $12 for a 50lb bag and since all she gets is 3/4 cup a day a bag lasts a LONG time!

I fed like that for a while with the Performance Plus and like it but with the cost of oats and barley I couldn't keep it up.
I fed a cup per day of the soybean meal and a cup of flax seed meal with it. The hardest keepers I replaced part of the oats with rolled barley and a small amount of corn.

I know, this is gonna be spendy. But I can't stand seeing him limp around everyday. I feel so helpless and he deserves better. Gonna try the oats and soybean meal and hope he keeps looking as good as he does now!
