My gelding has somewhat of a short back and if possible, I'd rather buy a 30x30 5 star but I'm just not sure. Those crown C skirts are so big. I just got mine and its a 13.5" seat if that helps at all...what do you think? Another thing, this probably is a stupid question but, is the 1st number in the pad measurements front to back? Then the second number is side to side? What pad measurements and thickness works with your crown c's?

I just got my new 5 Star to go with my Crown C. I went with 30 inches long x 32 inches wide.

Just looked at my order history with RockyRoad and I've always ordered 30x30. I had a crown c and they were good situation, could probably go 28 now with my Pozzi, but the 30 doesn't look too big.

Order through RockyRoad on here for sure :-) she's the master and can help answer all your questions and give you a smokin deal

I've been looking on ebay and could probably get one for 190. What are her prices like? Not custom, 3/4" thick

I have one short backed gelding while the 28 length is a tight squeeze, it's what works best for him. A 30" just looks absurd on him. My other gelding is a little bit longer and I like the 30" okay for him. I can try and post a picture of my short backed gelding and the 30" tomorrow if you'd like.

I have a 13.5" Crown C with a 5 Star - I'll have to check and let you know tomorrow what it measures. I believe I have a 7/8" thick pad.

Mine are all 30x30. I ride a 14" Crown C with an 8.5" gullet.

It's a good fit. Just a little pad sticks out under the skirts.

If you get a CE, I would go with the 31x32.

I have a 13.5 crown c and use a 28 X 28 with it. Its perfect. My horse is very short backed and the 30 x 30 csi pad I had was too long.. I just bought the Best Ever Cadillac pad and its perfect.

Here's my Crown C with a 30x30 5 Star. The reason I went with a 30x32 for my new one was simply to allow a little more pad underneath the rigging.

My 5 star is a 30x30 and it fits just right under my 13.5 seat Crown C. I'm planning to get another soon so I'll probably get a 30x30 again.

This is how mine looks as well with a 30x30

I also use the 30x32 and some of my pads or 34 wide, I like the extra wide for some of my saddles that have more of a droped rigging.

She'll be really competitive with that or even less expensive if you don't customize.

Just getting on here & will answer all the pms in a sec.  Wanted to say this about the size of the 5 Stars under the Crown C's:  If you pull your 5 Star up in the front to "tent" under the gullet, you will run out of room under the rigging.  You can see this on Sara's pic .... pull that pad up & no covering.)  I have also noticed that the wider the Crown C, the farther down it comes on the sides w/the rigging.  I completely recommend the 32" wide for those saddles but not everyone wants that, so it is a personal preference.  I actually ordered the 34" wide for mine - I like plenty of pad under that rigging & I do tent mine a lot to allow for wither room.  (I have the wider saddle too).  On length, it is up to what you like sticking out the ends.  If anyone else has questions, let me know please.  Here is a pic of my mare with my 5 Star - it is 34 wide (5 Star has the width first in their dimensions) x 32 long since I do a lot of trail riding & want a longer pad for that.
edited to add:  this was at the end of a ride, so the pad had slid down some from original cinching up ... but rigging still covered the way I like it.
