I am thinking about buying a Lakota living quarter trailer. Are these well built trailers for middle of the road trailers? Has anyone had experience with them good or bad? Problems etc.

I really liked my trailer & at first they were great to work with me on the warranty. It pulls well, horses haul good in it & LQ is ok (some things I would change). I had a major issue with a warranty and they won't honor it and told me tough luck. IDK if I would have another one after this, which makes me sad because I loved my trailer.

I have quite a few friends who have them and I have looked at them (up close and personal) a lot - at the dealer, at the NFR, etc.
Just my opinion, but the LQ part was pretty decent, but I really wasn't happy at all with the horse part. Didn't seem like it was built sturdy enough for my liking. Thin walls, etc. Not beefy enough for me.
Someone told me that they have been an RV company for years, and have just gotten into the horse trailer business in recent years. That totally makes sense to me as the RV part is decent but the horse part is lacking.
On the flip side, they are lighter and easy to pull, but for me the trade off of not having the extra thickness in the materials in the horse part is not worth it.
I think that maybe if you are not going to be going down the road in it full time it might be okay, however you don't have to be going far to need a sturdy trailer if you get in a wreck. JMHO...........

they are lighter and lighter for a reason a friend of mine got rearended and it crunched like an accordian.. We were gonna purchase one so we could get a slide out to pull with my F350, which would be struggling with my Elite. I didnt care for the walls, they were not soft side, and when there were a few of us sleeping in there, i seen dew on the walls, didnt care for that. They are made cheaper, but also ARE cheaper to purchase. When it came down to it, i chose to wait another year and order another Elite.  I think you can get more bang for your buck when ordering one tho. I usually trade out every 5 yrs, so i have to think of resale value too. I think its a matter of opinion, i know some that really like and some that dont. Good Luck on your decision

The ones I looked at didn't impress me with the horse area, but the LQ part seemed pretty nice.  I don't like the over the top LQ finishes you see on a lot of high end trailers these days, but the details in the horse part are important to me.

I had heard very good things about these, but I had only heard that about the LQ part. I have been looing at these & the Eclipse trailers & have seen a few I have really liked & a few I wouldn't haul a carcass in.

Eclipse's are complete junk IMO. Googling will review some very scary manufacturing issues that they haven't stood behind.

I had friends in another state that I live in who have one and claim they love it - it does not appear to be a sturdy trailer to me and despite them offering to haul us places, I ended up taking my own usually.

I do have a friend with a Lakota and haul wither her quite a bit. We like it so far and I've been looking at them for a purchase a few years down the road, but I may end up with a used brand that has a higher quality reputation, kind of depends on how her's holds up between now and then

My persal favorite, no frills hauls well and sturdy as they get are the Moritz 2 horse slants. But they really are not very accomodating if you are looking for ammenities.

I am completely unimpressed by trails west
