Hey all, I have been going back and forth between feeding my horses Patriot Performance 14% and PrimeGLO feed. I will ocassionally feed healthy oil in the summer, but cut back in the winter as they dont get worked as often. Are either of these feeds more superior to the other? I love the way my horses work on P14, but they LOOK better on Primeglo, however, it makes my one mare really goofy and sensitive...

Is there a supplement I can add in to the P14 to help with overall bulk and shine? I've debated feeding flax, as I am a vegan type of gal myself and have seen the benefits in my own body...

Anyone have any experience with DAC oil?

I just feel like my feeding program needs a revamp, I feel they are just not getting everything they need on P14 and free choice hay alone...

ETA: In my area P14 is $17 and PrimeGLO is $27

DAC oil is good for overall shine and coat.. and it has Omegas in it. My 4 looked amazing on it.
I like Patriot Performance 12/10 in winter  for I dont think they need 14 percent protein, I think fat is more important.but thats just my preferance.you can always throw in alfalfa hay in the mix.. Quality hay is more important.
soaked beet pulp will help with  overall condition and get fluid in gut as well.Patriot performance has all the needed nutrients in it.

How much Patriot do you feed? I have never tried it, but I have never fed more than 2# a day of the GLO and they look great. They also get free choice grass hay and THE Muscle Mass. The dollar per day feeding of the GLO feeds is much less than anything else I have tried and they look better than ever. So far I have used JuniorGlo, PrimeGlo, SeniorGlo
