Easy fix!!!! I bought one earlier this summer because their number ten tree is the only tree that will fit my horse. loved riding the saddle, hated making a run in it! Ive never been tossed forward like i was in this saddle, felt like i was riding like a monkey! I had always ridden shiloh contenders and never had this prob but they just kept bridging my horse. i figured out the stirrup leathers on my pozzi was not as wide as my contender, therefore, the stirrups on my pozzi had more movement forward and back! hence my feet going back. I secured my stirrup leathers were they couldnt go back and my saddle is now perfect and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!Ā

you are not the first one to have this prob, Ive heard alot of peeps say it and i will admit I hated making a run in mine at first but now its great!

Ā

Can I ask how you secured your stirrup leathers? I just got a pozzi and am having this issue also! Love the saddle otherwise :/ I'm about to see if forward hanging the stirrups is even a possibility!!

Make sure your stirrups are short enough. I have a Pozzi and I LOVE IT! I noticed last year I get a little too far over the front end, when I took my stirrups up it got my feet underneath me and sat me right back down. I ride pretty short stirrups on everything, but I noticed I’m more comfortable with them a tick shorter than even usual in my pozzi as opposed to my pro because the pro really rolls my hips under me and sits me down more. I ride the pozzi on my setty, more turny horses and the pro on the more free runners.

I sold both my Pozzis due to this problem. I tried shortening my stirrups and it made me worse...I guess it's how I ride? I can't count the number of times I was about on my horses necks in a turn and almost ate dirt too. Now I'm trying out a Lynn Mckenzie

My sister rides a Pozzi and has a big free running gelding that you have to sit down in the turns for, or he'll run by. I'd yell are her all the time because she'd LEAN forward like a maniac. Finally had her ride in my Jeff Smith (which also has a 5" cantle) and she sat back right away. Was totally the saddle and I actually felt bad for yelling at her all the time, she just couldn't help it.

What Jeff Smith do you have?  I’m considering getting one.

I had this problem with mine and ultimately sold it. I'd get dashboarded at first no matter how hard I tried to sit, my feet would get behind me and I couldn't get them back.

Something you might also check is the width of the gullet. Have a saddle that I rode everything in and put it on a new mare last summer. Even going slow I found myself leaning forward, it made me feel like I was scared and riding tentatively. Also hated my Special EEFX on this mare...same thing. Finally measured the gullet of that saddle and it is 8" and I'm thinking this mare might need a 6 - 6 1/2" gullet. Right now I am using a 7" gullet, with a built up pad, and a seat size that allows my to lock in my arms for the turns and the getting thrown forward issue has almost resolved itself.

The horse you are having issues with just might need a narrower gullet. Compare your horses' backs and see how similar/dissimilar they are.

^^^This.

I have one horse that my Pozzi will not work on, but the gullet width is to wide for him.
