Snappy - 2015-01-29 10:06 PM I really think your answer to this is going to depend on who you talk to and what son their horse is by. I am currently riding a daughter by Feature Mr Jess & have had a Streakin La Jolla (MJP's sire). I've found both of mine were very smart and easy to train. I had to back off of my FMJ mare several different times because she was coming to fast. Both are very athletic, and I didn't feel that either was a "hot" horse. However, she (my FMJ) is quirky. Both have been very "marey", and cycle really hard. My FMJ likes to kick fences & in the trailer. It drives me batty. The issues that I have had with her on the barrels are because of a fall that she had right before I started to run her. She ran hurt (not for a lack of trying to find it) for a long time before she told me "no". My SLJ mare was the same way. Both mares worked when they were sore & vets couldn't find the issue which to me means they have a lot of heart, try and grit.... Since I have found and fixed her injury things have been better, but I'm having to gain her trust and confidence again. She can get real strong when she runs and does't have a lot natural rate, my SLJ mare was just the opposite, lol, she was AAA and had so much rate it hurt! Neither wants to be handled much in the pattern and less is really more with them. They IMO are not the type of horses who you can drill, and drill and drill, they get board easy. I have a few friends with horses by Jesse James Jr, and they both really like them. I am not worried that much about MJP horses, I will ride them but I seem to like different from the "main stream" anyways. In fact I'm breeding my Judge Cash mare to a son of Jesse James Jr who is out of a Dash Ta Fame mare (his name is Rex Hill).

Rex Hill looks awesome!!
