My older son Travis came home from school last weekend. While we were making stuffed jalapano (sp) peppers I stuck my finger in his side and said "step". He gave me the funniest look and said "MOM! I'm not one of your horses!" 

I said of course not "They respond faster! and don't talk back!

I think it would be asking too much to want kids to learn as fast as horses do..
