Location: TN		I wonder if I could have my saddle re-treed to a Martin Racer? After looking at the Martin website it seems like that might help me sit deeper and not get too far forward.

Location: Lewisburg, Tennessee		Good thread Katie - have you ever ridden in a Shiloh?  The fenders are set just slighty forward (as you can see from the pic below) and I never feel like I'm "going over the dashboard," even when my little cow-bred gelding has stumbled and gone down behind the second barrel....twice.  I've ridden in alot of saddles out there, but I've not ridden a Martin.  I've had this Shiloh for 5 years now and love the way its open in the front to allow for shoulder movement and it's fit dang near every horse I've ridden with it, I've only had to add a thicker pad, etc.  You're more that welcome to ride in it in April.  :)

I too struggle with rein length.  I'll ride them longer just warming up but when I run I ususally shorten them up quite a bit.  I've got my holes marked for practice and competition, lol.

Pretty saddle and pad Gina! I've never ridden in a Shiloh saddle, it sounds nice though. Tomorrow I'm going to play around with my saddle, pads, and shimming to see if I can work on the problem. I love my saddle so I'd hate to have to get another one. I also decided 2 days ago to start working on core strength to help keep myself from getting too far forward and off balance. We'll see how it goes!
