Location: Texas | I love my Coats that I got earlier in the year and want another one. I don't however want to wait to have one built if I don't have to. I see quite a few Lazy L saddles and was wondering if the ride the same as the original coats. I know they are not as good a quality but if they ride the same I am willing to go that route as they are considerably less and are easier to find used ones. Thanks |

Location: Texas | I have a coats and a Lazy L. Honestly, the quality IMO is so comparable I wouldn't even think twice. I think I would have to really look and go, oh that ones a Lazy L only because it says it. I still think my Lazy L is a nicer quality than most other saddles out there. If you already have an original coats.. I would get a Lazy L too. If you had never had one at all I would say go for the gold and get a Coats. |

Do they ride the same though? |

Location: floating down a river | My husband has a Coats rope saddle and I have a Lazy L rope saddle. Same great quality. You cannot go wrong with either one. I believe(someone correct me if I am wrong) the only difference is that Larry doesn't do the tooling on the Lazy L, but everything else is the same.Edited to add: yes, they ride the same.

Location: S. California Beach | Lazy L is a factory made saddle to cut costs (production line) with the same trees and leather, with a staff that worked with and was trained by Larry...not made in the Coats shop. Coats saddles, you deal with Larry and he oversees the production in them and puts the ground seat in them (from what I understand he doesnt touch them alot unless its a Larry Coats Premiere). And unless you knew, you wouldnt really know...(same fit and same ride). You can get a bit more of a customized saddle with the Coats vs Lazy L. |

Location: Texas | Yes mine do ride the same. They also have the same tree in them since the Lazy L fit so good. I also had my horse fit in person and they decided to keep her on the standard tree. To me, they feel the same. |
