I am happy with my Total Equine and Forco program for my geldings...but my soon to be Mother-in Law has a couple of very easy keepers that she was feeding a small amount of a basic 12% pellet. Problem is the basic pellet comes from a mill that makes medicated cattle feed (Powells) and she wants to switch.

She wants an economical feed for the easy keepers. I worry that they get so little grain they might be better off with a vitamin/mineral supplement more so than just a cheap low percentage pellet. What do you guys recommend? These are mules...that she rides trail on only. I'm not a "mule person"...but maybe someone on here might be. Then again...they are really equines right?

I would think that in that situation Renew Gold would be very economical.

If they are easy keepers i wouldnt worry about grain i would worry about vit/min. So put on a daily vit/min ration or i agree with above using renew gold

I wouldn't grain them at all. Good quality hay / pasture & free choice minerals would be the route I'd take.

I like the renew Gold idea...but according to their dealer locator there isn't anyone carrying it within 100 miles

She would not feed something she had to have shipped in. She wants easy. Any others that might be available in the Little Rock Arkansas area?

Unfortunately, the Renew Gold dealer locator is not accurate. We are working hard to change that. Call at 530-934-9300 and we will get you to a dealer near you.

Thank you! I will call. Boy...good thing you are on here. They should just take that off the site if it's not accurate. I wrote them off based on that locator.

Are there any dealers in Ohio or WV?  Locator says not even close... Bummer!

Yes, we are making great progress with Renew Gold availability just about everywhere. This is changing so fast that the dealer locator has become totally useless. We are working on a more accurate updated system. Give us a call, 530-934-9300 and we will get you taken care of. There are really very few areas remaining in the US where Renew Gold is not available.

Purina Enrich. Maybe a pound a day, formulated for easy keepers, lots of vitamins in a small amount of feed with low fat content. :)
