Its a big covered arena with good sandy dirt. L shaped alley from the left. The times I have been there they have run a standard pattern but I know that other times they run a smaller pattern
(15s maybe
). The stalls are nice with big overhead fans to keep it cool in the summer! I reallly like going there and would go there a lot more if it was closer to me!

Now that I'm thinking about it it may have a straight alley. When I used to go there for HS rodeo/AJRA they may have just set up the alley like that with panels... maybe someone else can help with that? Regardless its a nice pen and I like going out there! Lots of parking too!

For the big barrel races like this one they should have alley set up with a holding pen and run it on a smaller pattern.
15.495 won the Open last year.
Small covered warm up pen behind the alley. Does get a little crowded with horses tied. Also have a pretty nice outdoor pen to warm up in.
Its a great event!

It's a great arena. This is always a great race to attend. There should be panels set up for holding pens to run in and out of for the alley.

Ok thank you. I was little worried because it didn't seem like they had very many pre entries. But maybe it's just a bad weekend or something.

They always have a ton of on-site entries. Most other local races won't book over this one.

It is the slowest run race in west TX. If you go, be prepared to be there a long time.
