Fallon Taylor said all that? She's really great.

About the horse, I wouldn't expect much more from a kill buyer's daughter. Who has taught this person empathy? No one obviously.

How this person treated these horses is inexcusable. As someone who's father was also a horse trader and a killer buyer, I can personally tell you that her fathers profession had nothing to do with how she treated these horses, how she was raised had everything to do with it, it is called responsibility. Judging people on one criteria only serves to prove that you don't have a clue what you are talking about. That is like saying that all children of lawyers are slimy and sleezy.

I'd like to hear the other side of the story. However, I can't imagine ANY reasonable excuse for letting these animals suffer like this. On Facebook someone defended the trainer and her family, blamed the owner for not vaccinating. I'm sure there are multiple people, barn help, family members, saw these horses in this condition and no one did anything to help them it appears. I've only taken in a few outside horses but I ALWAYS keep in contact with owner. I constantly send updates, pics or videos and if they so much as get a scratch I'm all over it. I do this for them and to protect myself from fraudulent claims of oh they didn't communicate, ride, take care of etc...with all our electronic devices and ability to send via text or email there's absolutely no reason not to....unless you have something to hide

I was just discussing the strangles vaccine with my vet on Saturday and he advised against it for my horses bc they're older (4-14 yrs) and the risk of developing purpura vs. the benefits of vaccine was a concern. Only in cases of outbreaks did he reccommend it for them. My friends horse (7yrs old) did get purpura last spring from the vaccine. It was very painful for him but fortunately he got treatment early.

ThreeCorners - 2015-03-09 8:10 PM I dont want to get involved in the magic seat debate but I do have a question I have been pondering. Beings though I have never used one, or even personally looked at one close, I'm curious if a horse fell and the rider was using a magic seat, what then? Does it somehow release?

TC - I used one for two races with my rocket mare.  I popped loose from it both times just from how hard she comes off the barrels.  I can't imagine it being dangerous in a fall situation.
That may be true for adults.. I do not see a small 50lb child being able to pop it loose . I absolutely feel these things were not designed to stick a tiny child on ahuge  powerful horse and kick.. to assist yes.. but there is  a fine line in parents responsibilites here..
Amen and from what I understand...that was pretty much the discussion on magic seats that FT jumped on the band wagon about. I would love to read what actually was said and done as what was told to me it was pretty much an over reaction on FT's part and some of the bullying came from her end. So what is the real truth?

If I remember right it was about a teen that took her own life from being bullyed about using a magie seat.

This is what FT posted....The girl who took her life was not being bullied about the Magic Seat.........

This gorgeous young lady took her own life this week after bullies were relentlessly attacking her. As an adult...I take plenty of heat daily online....I WILL NOT stand by while kids and adults bully kids and adults. I fly my freak flag hoping that I will catch all the heat from the haters...but that isn't enough!!! A different young lady at the American caught heat for wearing a protective velcro seat while she competed....I will be competing in one at Diamonds & Dirt Barrel... Horse Classic to stand in alliance with this young lady and all others that take criticism for their choices to help try and make a difference. I will be doing more...but for those of you that think its ok to bash people online thinking your small circle of friends won't be affected.....they will be and its costing us lives! If I had to guess....the people doing the bashing are the most sad, unconfident, least brave among us and simply need a hug and a real friend to rely on. If your friends jump on your bashing bandwagon....you don't have friends...you have people around you that will help bash you when you decide to move on from that relationship. I was bullied in school....my father was bullied in school....my sister was teased in school.....it has to stop somewhere! I was made fun of for how smart I was...because I was into horses...and because of my eclectic taste in clothes....UMMMMMMM guess what made me a rodeo celebrity......being smart....loving horses....and eclectic taste in clothes!!!!! Not everyone is average....some people are unique..different....innovative...guess what!?! Those people can CHANGE THE WORLD WE LIVE IN!!! Now that we have lost one of these amazingly unique individuals...again...to cyber bullying I beg you to not just watch but report them..stop them...get them blocked!

Yeah it has nothing to do with the whole S. Ranch /team T /girls picking on AC debate in which bullying went both ways.

All of that was deleted from fb about banning them anyway once they all came to their senses and realized they were bullying back. Its awful ppl think FT was jumping in with that gang and comparing the death of a teen to that magic seat at the American fiasco SMH

Blaming this mess on the owner because they didn't vaccinate doesn't fly. She still had a responsibility to contact the owner and let them know and let them make the decision on whether to get vet care or not. That was not her decision to make. And shame on her or anyone else to try to blame the owners for this.

Ditto.  What if the horse sustained an injury while in her care, would she call then?? Not much difference once the injury/illness is present.  A decent person would contact the owner.

I agree....a decent person would. In my case I was not contacted and found my horse in a sick condition and a poor one at that. Seeing the trainer just the week before at a barrel race and looking my in the eye and saying.."your horse is doing fine"! that is just being a bald face liar and hiding that my horse was very sick. A week after I picked him up the trainer had the balls (literally) to send me a bill! IMO why would you want to hear HER side of the story? I feel it is cut and dried! Just like my ordeal.

I don't know why and it DOESN'T matter but it's so hard for me to fathom doing nothing to help these poor babies bc I couldn't not help them even if I just saw them briefly. I'm guessing there was barn help, other people who saw and did NOTHING. It's just so sad.

There's a well known breeding facility near me with a multi million dollar producing stud. Owner is or was on TQHA board. Studs pictures on the website show a beautiful creature, I mean gorgeous. I saw him in person (by accident, they kept him in back barn, hidden) he was emaciated and looked like a poster child for the humane society. His breeding fee is $3000. I called a friend at sheriffs office and made anonymous tip. They went out and did a well check. Animal control officer was livid! Horse was weak, emaciated and suffering from serious laminitis, and had terrible shoe boils. Unfortunately, the vet was there (collecting) and said animal was under his care so there was NOTHING the she could do. She asked the owner how long he planned on breeding him like this and his response was, "As long as he produces or drops dead." He is only 13.

My niece used one on my old gelding, he wasn't big and powerful buy any means, he was 27 yrs old and she was 7 and very small for her age, she rode at home without it all the time, we just made her use it when she ran.  He slipped one day with her and fell down, he wasn't going fast a slow lope, she popped right lose and she was maybe 40# soaking wet.  She didn't have to do anything, it just popped.

Saw this last night. Only saw one picture last night tho...
I will be looking for her and warning friends who are attending the same barrel races. You can guarentee my friends are vocal enough to make a big deal out of her being there with horses that are potentially sick. I would be tentative to say anything to the producers lol but my friends won't be! I know for a fact when my friend finds out she will be at D&D she will raise all kinds of cane... Poor horses
