Since we sold our big LQ I have been looking at smaller weekender packages and have ran across a couple older ones that I like.  Will most likely be paying cash so they are not overly expensive.

The ones I have ran across range from 1995-1998.  In that age range which was better Sooner or Featherlite?

I had a 1997 Sooner and LOVED it... mine was fully insulated though. I think they're pretty comparable in those year ranges so it would be personal preference.

Definitely Sooner.....the older Sooner's were the better made ones...they called them PC Plus...of course, they sold out to Universal and are made like Exiss now....and Featherlite has always been entry level...the older Sooners were never entry level, they were top shelf...

Thank you!  I just text a friend that has a 97 Sooner and she loves hers.

The biggest hold up now is all the Sooners I found are in Texas and the Featherlite is only 60 miles from me.  May just run over and take a look at it.

I had an 94 and a 98 Featherlite didn't have a single complaint on either one, both held up and were great trailers.  Only sold the 94 to buy the 98 because wanted a bigger dressing room to put a weekender pkg in.  Then sold the 98 just a few years ago because I got a deal on a 4 Star with full LQ I couldn't pass up.

I have never had a Featherlite, but I loved my Sooners! I had a 1997 and a 2001, both were perfect and what I needed at the time. I highly suggest them, during that time period, not sure what has or hasn't changed.

I have had both in that age range and the Sooner had better welds and hinges.

I haven't owned either, but have heard featherlight have always had problems with the floors rotting out.

Had the privilege of speaking with people who repair trailers for a living, one specifically for feather lite and one fixes all, both have said there is not a safe year for these trailers

I have had 5 Featherlites - from 1986 to 2005. All different types - bumper pull, gooseneck with and without living quarters...... and they have all been terrific. Not one complaint - ever. And I really used them as I rodeoed for many years and put many, many miles on them.
I have been very happy with their quality across the board.

I bought my 96 Featherlite in the fall of 95.
It has been an awesome trailer and has held up great. Only normal issues like replacing the brakes and lights
I see me using it for several more years

I have a 95 Sooner. It's a 4 horse slant with a huge dressing room. I have ZERO complaints about it. I love it. VERY well made and very nice to pull. I also had a 2000 LQ Sooner a few years ago and LOOOVED it. My husband also has a late 90's model stock/combo trailer with a dressing room and we love it as well. Would not hesitate to purchase another or recommend them to someone else! Good luck!!

we have a 1999 sooner that was a 3h front dressing room. It was modified into a LQ and the front horse stall into a bathroom. We bought it after all the work was done. We've had it about 5 years now. We LOVE it. very well made. my husband is a diesel mechanic and he said its heavy duty and very good construction.
