Rad Dork Posts: 5218 Location: Oklahoma	Any ideas as to what this could be? It's just a little past the midway point down his back. I can't feel any swelling or fluid, just a bump.... Maybe even bone? Any ideas or causes? Is it saddle fit or something chiropractically out? I just noticed it this morning (honestly haven't looked him over with a fine toothed comb since Wednesday) and haven't rode since Wednesday.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 507 Location: Lost in the corn of Iowa.	Check your saddle fit. My mare had this last year. I didn't realize that my saddle didn't have enough flare at the shoulders and was pushing in on her shoulders, which atrophied her shoulder muscle and also cause a nice goose egg size bump in her lumbar area. I had to get her chiro'd monthly and then was massaging that bump almost daily to get it to go down. I had to get a different saddle, you might not have to. But it did go completely down and now there isn't any bump, and there is no residual pain that I have dealt with. Good luck!!

Rad Dork Posts: 5218 Location: Oklahoma	Thanks. This is what I was afraid of. I had him fitted by Double J last fall and he was supposed to be a "standard" tree. I think I might haul to the BBR finals and have him re-fitted and see what he would be in a Caldwell. My daddle does look like it pops up a small bit in the back, but thought I helped it by using a thinner pad, but not sure I'm sold on the fit.

Do you think it's simply an adjustment issue? We saw an osteopath back at the end of January and got everything put back into place, but I am now trying to leg him back up (have rode three times) and this is the first I'm noticing the bump... ever.
