| Is there a hackamore between a little S and Jim Warner? I've been experimenting with my mare. The little S is a little too light to make runs in and she acts trapped in the Jim Warner. Any suggestions? |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | What noseband and what shank length is on your Jimmy Warner?
I would try a short shank with the rope and if that is too much, wrap the nose with vet rap. |

Location: on a hill | Try wrapping a piece of coated wire (thin like speaker wire) to the nose of your s hack. Then cover it with black electric tape. It puts a little more bite to it. I did it to mine and it was just what he needed. |

Location: Phoenix | Try the Carl hack from LW bits. It's more of a side pull. There's whoa, but flex...I like it a lot.

Location: Texas!! | You might want to look at the Ed Wright Hacks too. I have the chain one, it comes already wrapped in tape. |

| Thank yall so much!! Is the L&W hack similar to a Bozo hack? Her ultimate problem is that she is WAY too bendy with any bit that I put on her. She's just so sensitive. I need something that is a little more forgiving and will keep her from "folding up" on the backside of her turns. |

Location: Phoenix | It's pretty different. The bozo shanks are more swept back and the Carl will stand them up a little more it seems. I sold my bozo; didn't like it much. |

| I love my Brittany Pozzi hackamore.......rubber covered, and the sides will turn freely. My green horse is working really well with this |

| Love the ladybug on my free runner, but it has some bite to it. The goose tree chain nose (rubber covered) hack is a good one for your hack collection too. |

Location: NC | What about a Beetle? It has a little more direct action than the little s but not so much as the JW. That's what I would bump up to from a little s if I needed to before trying the JW |

| I second rope nose beetle or the short shank stivers. I have both and a little s and jim warner.. weirdly my horse works great in the metal one that is above the one the girl posted from L &W, but acts like a jim warner is too much.. But the beetle is good because it has the bend like the little s but seems to get a little more respect and rate |

Location: East Texas | I have a mare that is very sensitive too. The beetle seemed to really bind her up and a Jim Warner was to much. I found the clampitt hackamore. I called and talked with him for a long time discussing what I wanted and what issues I had been having. He makes several different styles of hackamores and this is the one I purchased. I absolutely love it! Several of mine ran in a beetle or a warner and I have now changed to this. Its designed to have some give, but it also is designed to set lower on the nose than normal hacks. If you are intersested google Ronnie clampitt hackamores.

Thats a nice hack, I like the chain so much better then a rope nose peice, the rope just does not form like a chain nose and the chain nose is so much easier on their faces. The rope has so much more bite to it. |
