As per the news reports we (my town) has 5 day rain totals of 10.9".  3.6" today alone and it's not ending anytime soon.

Eh, we have lakes  everywhere.  My workout today was attemping to dig decent enough trenchs to drain the barn.  My horse is hurt and out at least until mid-June.  So I got to chase ungrateful ponies with fly spray so they wouldn't get carried off by mosquitoes.   Two really grouchy mini Aussies because they don't believe in getting wet..  and a freakin lovely workout.  I still can't cuss the rain, lived in the desert too long.  I'd like to see it more spaced out, but it's still rain.

That made me chuckle.  We have a standard Aussie that is deathly afraid of storms.  You can imagine how the last week has been for us.  She will jump right in the middle of you at night if they roll through and scare the bejesus out of ya.  I sure am ready for some dry weather.  Galloping in the slop ain't my idea of fun, but they gotta go.

I've had one like that, stray that jumped in my trailer during a storm and kept trying to bite me everytime I tried to get her out.  Had no choice, had to keep her....and named her Storm.

One of the minis gets so worried when it's storming.  She can't settle down, paces, will randomly jump in the middle of you... poor girl is getting desensitied after a week of it.  She hides in the closet and under the bed a lot.  I feel awful for her.  My horse is on stall rest for a month and the barn flooded, spent hours yesterday digging ditches and draining it so the princess has a dry space.  On the upside...our pastures will be beautiful in about a week, I'm excited aobut that!

I know exactly how you feel!  My guy has been laid off since September and I got the go ahead to start legging him back up six weeks ago.... We've had five rides.  Starting to think I won't get him back running before it gets back to freezing!

I'm in the same boat with ya'll....literally.  I've been exercising mine in the knee deep mud in between storms.  Neither of us are too thrilled about that!  My mud puddles have moss growing in them.  Ugh.....come on mother nature....we need a break!

Total we've gotten over 12" of rain in the last week. I've given up on exercising the ponies right now... Studly is turned out with the girls so he's getting plenty of self inflicted exercise. Donkey and the gelding are hanging out in the mud pit. I've noticed flies are horrible, so I'm been brushing mud off and applying fly spray. I am watching out for rain rot, etc especially on the bulbs of the heels.

We are going through the same stuff. It will rain for a week, then we will have one or two nice sunny days, followed by a week of rain. I am thankful for the rain, but as of now we are a month behind on shipping yearlings and can't start cutting hay because the tractors get stuck in the pasture.
According to the almanac, we will be getting rain, and lots of it, all year.

To the people with dogs that don't like storms-have y'all heard of a "Thundershirt"? I felt a little silly when I bought it at Petco, but I have a Corgi/Aussie mix that gets horrible anxiety with storms so I tried it. It really helps! I use it when he goes to the vet too. Just thought I'd throw that out there
