run n rate - 2015-06-19 12:09 PM Its terrifying for these kids who are down there, then bring it back home possibly with them and then you have the kids that go on to Silver State and Nationals.
I went the year that EHV-1 first had that bad outbreak. We had to have health papers within 1 week I believe and as we drove in there were mutliple vets that went over the horses head to toe. The horses were to remain on the trailer until the previous horses were back on their trailer and in the facility. The area was before you got on the grounds and once you were on the grounds if you left the facility you were not allowed to bring the horses back. I honestly think it needs to be like this. I was impressed with the proactive approach, even though it is still always possible.

Health papers are a joke and just a way to generate money as an animal can be fine the day they are examined and the next day be sick. Then we have the vets that just give out health papers without ever examining an animal.
In GA I can get a health paper for 6 months to travel on.
You can in TN as well, however, they are not recognized in every state. Make sure the state you are traveling to will accept them before going.
